Now! Improv – House Teams

The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team. – Phil Jackson

Working as a team is one of the many skills needed to grow, not only as a performer but also as a person.  Working collectively and thinking as one entity, is one of the most rewarding aspects of this artform. Our House Teams strive to demonstrate the power of ensemble play ever time they take the stage at NOW.

Helium bounds through their sets with joyful ignorance of anything but the present moment. In this roller coaster ride of impulsions, anything could happen, but there’s a good chance that someone will be lifted, someone will be kissed, someone will run into the audience. Keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle, it’s gonna be a physical show.

Simpatico strive to do improv in the NOW tradition of exploding small moments, seeking truth in attention to detail, and joy in silliness. Through chemistry, listening, feeling and understanding each other we love to create shows full of relatable characters, touching relationships and fun games.

We were brought together in what can only be imagined as a mystical ceremony, by the wisdom of Annie and Levin. We want to make something beautiful and good.

Water Pig

Led by nothing more than a strong gut-feeling and the same technicolor dream of a pig leading them to the ocean, seven improvisers found themselves simultaneously at the edge of the Pacific Ocean on a hot August evening in a bygone year. Thus, Water Pig was born- not out of desire, but a necessity, for a group of talented individuals to weave elaborate jokes together. Because no one else in the history of the universe has ever done it before. You’re welcome.
